The section announced on Twitter June 20 that the de Klerk session was canceled, but offered no explanation at the time. The International Law Section later issued a statement that, “Presenting the program would not help the association advance our Goal III priority.” Goal III refers to the ABA’s aim to eliminate bias and enhance diversity in the legal profession and justice system.
